Exhibition and Sales Event “Ainu Crafts of Biratori Town Nibutani - Inheriting Tradition and Embracing Innovation” Held at Chikaho in Sapporo

We will hold an event for the Nibutani Ainu Craft Project at Chikaho in Sapporo. The event will feature the debut of six new pieces from the second installment of the tinware (i-sapte) series, born from the collaboration with Nousaku, a 107-year-old metal casting manufacturer, following last year's success. Additionally, a variety of products created through this project will be on display. Young artisans involved in the project will also be present at the venue. Furthermore, there will be special demonstrations to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the designation of "Nibutani Ita" and "Nibutani Attus" as traditional crafts. We sincerely hope you can join us at the venue to experience the Ainu culture, which has been passed down through generations in Nibutani, Biratori Town, firsthand.
