i-sapte Tableware Collection 2023

Introducing the “i-sapte Tableware Collection,” born in 2022. As the second installment for this year, six new items have been added, focusing on vessels that leverage the benefits of tin for “enhanced drinkability.” Explore the world of sake with the “katakuchi” and “guinomi,” or versatile tumblers suitable for various beverages. Additionally, we recommend the use of the tin-motif square bowl inspired by the Ainu implement “Nima” and a plate that takes advantage of the bending properties of tin for serving dishes while keeping them “cool” with added ice. This plate adorned with Nibutani Ita patterns can also be enjoyed as interior decor.

Experience the essence of Ainu culture infused into this tableware collection, and we hope it brings a touch of that cultural richness into your everyday life.

PROFILE

NOUSAKU

In 1916, Nousaku began manufacturing Buddhist ritual objects, Japanese tea sets and vases made of brass and bronze in Takaoka, Japan. The city has flourished since 1609, and built its reputation as the center of the copper industry in Japan over those 400 years.
Casting is a manufacturing process in which a molten metal is poured into a mold to form an object of the desired shape. Every Nousaku product starts with the creation of a sand mold, and then undergoes several finishing processes. Hand-finishing by experienced craftsmen accentuates its material beauty and fineness.
